Margrethe Munthe
(27 May 1860 – 20 January 1931)
The author of Norway’s first children’s songbook was born
at Munthegaarden Alfheim in Elverum on the 27th of May 1860.
This was where she drew inspiration for the treasure chest
of songs she left behind. Her first songbook was published
in 1905, and her lyrics are as relevant today as they were
then.
